Liquid Abstraction
Sampled in one instant and frozen in time, a natural abstract art form resembled rivulets of ink spilled into water. Indeed, it was water--the gently wind-rippled surface of a pond in Everglades National Park, reflecting the essentially monochromatic light of an overcast sky and its silhouettes of intervening wetland plants. I like the opportunities that overcast or cloudy conditions afford an outdoor photographer, as long as the eye is alert for the possibilities.
