Tidal Current Channels
Currents in the outgoing tide left behind these channels in the sand at remarkably regular intervals--each a few feet apart and nearly as wide. These are not larger versions of the flow ripples featured in two other shots in this gallery: one along the Atlantic coast, one other beside the Pacific, each related to flow across the lines. Soon enough, the whole scene would become part of the pounding surf for another among countless such cycles, with occasional rain to freshen the tidewater. Wash, rinse and repeat!
