Stinkin' Gust Front
The roll cloud in the background looms over a rack of old, fileted, partially dried catfish carcasses proudly mounted by an Okie fisherman. Gust fronts which surge well away from the convection which caused them often remain strong enough to lift moist air into cloud material -- in this case, a fairly laminar roll cloud. Outflow boundaries associated with roll clouds and other gust front features should be watched for further thunderstorm development if the atmosphere is unstable. As for the catfish, these pungent piscatory prizes were soon to be blown about like a smelly mobile.
