Day's End, South Dakota
After observing a splendid supercell for almost all of its life cycle, we were ready to head to the night's lodging. One more treat awaited, though: a splash of Dakota sun, sinking behind that narrow space between cloud base and horizon, and casting the table-flat skyline warmly aglow in its fading rays.
