Bountifully Branching Blast

Bountifully Branching Blast

This storm had produced several great lightning discharges, including a tilted current and an insanely lengthy cloud-base-to-air discharge, before unleashing this many-megawatt surge. This final lightning shot exploded across the late-twilight sky near the Colorado-Nebraska border. It was close, the thunder was loud, and the cold rain was starting to fall. Comfort and safety prevailed over photographic greed, but not before we had enjoyed a wondrous show of electrical productivity.
