Fog & Mist
Rain Forest Dripping
In between bird calls and my own walking on the wet trail, the prevalent sound here was the dripping of condensation from every woodland surface -- leaves, needles, branches, logs, moss and more -- amidst the fog and mist blanketing Mt. Roberts. The aroma was clean, moist, cool, unpolluted, begging of slow and deep breath. Such moments of tranquility in the temperate coastal rain forest are remembered at least as much for their sounds and smells as for sights such as this.
