Doppler Ray-darAlmost twenty years ago the National Weather Service, in word and deed, established the WSR-88D (Doppler radar) as its own "ray of hope." This shot, therefore, would be ideal for a promotional brochure touting its marvelous powers. [Another shot of the same radome also can serve this purpose.] Actually, the radome is fortuitously juxtaposed in this view with crepuscular rays beaming through a notch in some towering cumulus and cumulus congestus.
