Double SkirtAfter initially distinct northern and southern supercells merged, what had been most of the northern member filled with rain and hail from south to north (left to right) -- but not enough to undermine the original, northern updraft plume in this area. Meanwhile, as the late-afternoon light of mid-June shone through from the northwest, a beautifully two-tiered, skirted structure of the supercell base took shape.
