The Majestic Supercell
After initially distinct northern and southern supercells merged, what had been most of the northern member filled with rain and hail from south to north (left to right) -- but not enough to undermine the original, northern updraft plume in this area. Meanwhile, as the late-afternoon light of mid-June shone through from the northwest, a beautifully two-tiered, skirted structure of the supercell base took shape. Unfortunately, we couldn't stay here too long, since lightning, rain and hail all began to beseige our position.
