After a fine storm intercept of a nearby squall line, the skies cleared from the west, and we headed to the International Peace Garden for an afternoon tour. The storms left behind refreshing, rain-cooled air and a wondrous parkland virtually devoid of people. Essentially, we had parts of two nations to ourselves--sometimes standing in both countries at once--no passport needed! We drove along the park's well-maintained roadways that extend over a mile into each nation, and walked the well-maintained gardens, stopping for photography of course. For any of our friends who may find themselves with some time off in northern North Dakota or southern Manitoba during the warm season, this is a fine way to spend a few hours.
