Golden Dome

Bathed in sunset light, a deep, wide dome of cumulus congestus mushrooms upward, soon to merge with a nearby cluster of thunderstorms. In clean skies with high instability, crisp details emerge continually on the cauliflower-like surfaces of such deep convective clouds. These remarkably intricate textures change constantly, sculpted in appearance yet fluid as the air it is. Beginning any given second, the specific pattern one sees is gone, never again to be duplicated precisely.
