A solitary supercell sometimes takes a long time to wind down, thanks to the spinning perseverance of its internal low-pressure machine. This storm very slowly narrowed over the span of an hour, sheared and tilted ever more, until the final towers of the storm and the final rays of the sun converged in a dazzling confluence of form and light-- God's painting on a vapor canvas stretched across the entire northern sky.
