Supercell's Pastels

A series of severe storms crossed central Kansas one evening last May, offering some wondrous photo opportunities. For this dreamy sky we can thank a splendidly striated evening supercell, early twilight, colors from a brilliant sunset's ending diffused through the dense western clouds, a few dollops of internal and directly visible lightning, and just enough exposure time to drink the tones deeply into the image. In person it was even better--the entire sky glowed with transitional swaths of otherworldly hues.
