Water lilies in assorted stages of bloom and bud commonly decorate the sloughs of Everglades National Park, forming cover for fish and other aquatic life. The combination of clear and still water, deep blue sky directly above, and heavy shadowing from both a cloud deck and taller plants behind me, permitted a long exposure at high ISO, in order to bring out the dramatic variety of colors found in a small and low-lying space.
