The rolling and rocky hills of Central Texas blossomed last spring in a wildflower display of legendary beauty and breadth, one seldom matched even in the recollections of the old-timers. Mile after mile of colorful fields greeted the eye, carpeted with luxuriant floral displays; yet some of the most stunning views still were close-up and intimate, deep visual sojourns into singular flowers out of hundreds of millions of choices.
